Oh wow, as a Kermit obsessive I can assure you, your father will absolutely love it! I’m using an iron-on embroidered patch – http://www.amazon.com/Henson-Muppets-Kermit-Cartoon-Embroidered/dp/B000S4V638/ . I had also considered embroidering or cross-stitching my own Kermit (which is part of why I have the Kermit cross-stitch I posted in an earlier post, from this kit – http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/productdetail.jsp?CATID=cat2927&PRODID=zprd_10620474b ).

I decided that the patch would most resemble the look and feel of a varsity letter, and that it would probably fare best with washing and wearing. Please keep me posted on your Kermit sweater – I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Love your idea for a Kermit the frog sweater. I got the same hankering to make one for my dad because he absolutely loves Kermit the Frog. Now you mentioned something about a patch. So you’re ironing on the patch of Kermit, or are you like using multiple colors to come up with his face? Sorry if I’m not making much sense, not sure how to word it.

Chemical engineering does sound really fascinating. As is probably evident, I’m in the midst of an enormous love affair with science, so I am considering a lot of areas within or related to chemistry.
